Super73 comparison US and Australian models
For the RX-G and SG2
Australia has a different set of ebike rules, certifications, market standards and regulations which we have to uphold. This combined with different import duties and pricing structures when bringing our bikes to Australia, are the main source of the price differences. See below for further explanation.
RX-G and SG2: The best specs for the Australian market
While the Super73 RX and S2 models sold to the US market have optional gearing, we automatically included these features on the bikes we import to Australia. We also upgraded the brakes to Magura, a trusted high-quality brand from Germany. The bikes have the same build, design, and features, but in the Australian market, we chose to offer only the best.

Why are Super73's sold in Australia priced differently to Super73's sold in the USA?
Following European standards
In terms of regulations and certification, Europe has some of the highest standards regarding electric bikes and Australia decided to follow them. Super73 follows those regulations to ensure customer safety and therefore test each new bike model in accredited laboratories (such as TUV SUD) to make sure all the required labelling and standards are followed. The United States does not require those same tests or standards. These tests and certification do have an influence on our prices. Thanks to this, our bikes are certified Electric Pedal Assist Cycles (EPAC) and fall in the e-bike category required for use in Australia.
US prices are not always what they seem
At first glance, you may think that prices labeled on the US Super73 website are much lower than prices displayed on our Australian website. In the United States, advertised prices don’t include local state taxes, which range from 0% to 13.3% (such as in California). Those state taxes are added to the shopping cart. In Australia, the GST is already included in the price displayed on the product page. On top of that, there are different import fees and other customs charges added to products coming into Australia.
